Now that the dust has settled, thank you emails been sent and I've finally been able to catch my breath I thought it was time to update you on our annual careers fair. I thought last year was a big event but this year we increased the number of stands and variety participants.
ER Productions were back with tasers being projected onto a black background, a SparXtar machine generating a controlled sparks fountain and a Smokejet blasting a stream of water- based fog illuminating the beams of laser light.
There were many more interesting stands highlighting to all year groups the huge range of careers available to them, including ones they'd never heard of before. They met individuals from a range of organisations, this included the NHS, London School of Economics, Taylor Wimpey, Molton Brown, JGF Electrical and Building Services Ltd, BBC News, Kent Police, University of Kent, Kimberly Clark, ITV and many more.
Some of the stands had activities for the students to do. Kimberly Clark had brought along small stuffed Andrex puppies for the students to win. There were Molton Brown products to smell, uniforms to try on, games to test if you have a steady hand. Students were able to see and hear what it would be like to be a presenter with Made in Kent Radio
Students were also able to ask questions about life at University and college as we welcomed Oxford University, University of Kent, UCA, Canterbury Christ Church University, North Kent College and London south East college.
All participants found our students to be very engaging, receptive and asked some great questions. Here is some of the feedback from just a small number of the organizations that attended.
Thank you for the kind and generous gratitude, it was a rewarding and excellent day, we engaged with so many thoughtful and respectful young adults who had clearly thought about careers and were on a journey of employability. For my part I really enjoyed the day and look forward to joining you again next year.
Thank you for inviting me for the fair. I had a lovely time interacting with the students and introduce Molton Brown.
There were a lot of pertinent questions about the history of Molton Brown, the provenance of the ingredients we use, questions around opportunities available wit the business and learning routes for the perfumery industry.

On a final note, watch out for next years careers for post as I have plans for an even bigger event taking over more if the school site plus a bigger display outside.
