AWE have been training apprentices to make the world a safer place for 70 years, setting them up for success in a unique and exciting industry.
We’re looking for bright future leaders to join the 2024 cohort.
Help them to choose from a wide range of Level 2 and 3 roles.
Level 2 and 3 roles at AWE are a great starting point to nurture and develop skills and be supported into onward career paths and degree level study.
What’s more, those who join our award-winning apprenticeship scheme are paid a salary while they learn.
Chris, aged 20 in Level 3 Mechatronics Apprenticeship.
I studied Maths, Physics and Computer Science at 6th form which gave me the theoretical knowledge, but it was this apprenticeship that raised my practical knowledge up to the same level. Without it I wouldn’t have the confidence and quality in my work to meet the standards of AWE and start my career in the professional engineering world.
After completing my apprenticeship in Mechatronics, I am specialising in electronics where the company is paying for me to go and complete my degree achieving the same standard as a level 6 apprenticeship.
Take a look at some of the remaining open apprenticeships:
Level 2:
- Supervised Practitioner – Engineering Operative Apprentice
- Operations Apprentice
Level 3:
- Maintenance Control Apprentice
- Machine Operator Apprentice
- Computer Aided Design Technician
- Mechanical Maintenance Apprentice

Mercedes Benz apprenticeship offer - Technicians sales and customer service
Mercedes-Benz currently have vacancies available within their apprenticeship programme in England, Scotland and Wales. The jobs will be located at the franchise dealership, but elements of the training will be delivered from Mercedes-Benz training headquarters at Milton Keynes. Applicants must be willing to undertake block training in Milton Keynes.
The Technician apprenticeships are available in Light Vehicle and Vans and in Heavy Vehicle. There are also apprenticeships in Parts/Retail and Customer Service.
These are 3-year programmes except for Customer Service which is over 18 months. National Apprentice wage rates apply as minimum but for anyone over 18 this reverts to National Minimum wage for adults after the first year. Dealers may choose to pay above minimum – likely dependant on location.
Application process is to apply online https://mercedes-benztraining.co.uk/mercedes-benz-academy-apply.aspx . This is where details of all available vacancies can be found. Vacancies will be updated continually over the coming months, so if a vacancy is not visible in the local area initially, please encourage interested parties to continue checking back.
From the initial application there will be a telephone interview, a hiring interview with the dealership (and possible further discussion if any prior learning exists to establish what this may be and tailor learning accordingly)
Any person interested is advised they can approach a local dealership to express an interest and find out if roles are available, however they may be requested to make an application via the online site above.
Intake is scheduled to commence training from September 2024
